Founded in 1996, Mediamobile originated from a partnership between TDF Group (European leader in media content broadcast) and the automotive manufacturer Renault in the framework of a European Program for Research and Development of Intelligent Transportation.
Mediamobile became the first French company to offer comprehensive traffic information in real time to improve mobility for motorists. The company actively participates in the development of road transport telematics in Europe, and has innovated :
Since 2009, Mediamobile continues to develop its real time traffic information services, expanding its geographic coverage to most major French cities, using traffic data fed back by more than 700 000 tracer vehicles spanning over a network of over 320 000 kilometers.
In June 2010, Mediamobile and Météo France joined forces to offer first traffic information service for road and weather in France: "Road & Weather" combining traffic information and road conditions.
As a subsidiary of the TDF Group and its Multimedia Division*, Mediamobile leverages on the European broadcast network of its parent company. This way, Mediamobile has developed partnerships with its European counterparts and sign a contract with car manufacturer BMW, for pan-European traffic service coverage. Mediamobile is constantly developing new solutions, innovating and expanding internationally. With the acquisition of Destia Traffic in July 2010 to create Mediamobile Nordic in northern Europe, Mediamobile has positioned itself as a major player in the traffic information arena.
